      I'm finally back in school mode! This semester I'm taking my last three major courses. I'm also doing field work at a nearby Elementary School. Most of my field work consist of me just doing observations, and I will have to teach five LESSONS!!! I'm a bit nervous but super excited! 

    This means that I will be extremely busy writing lesson plans for my field experience and for all of my three classes. I'm trying to cut down the time I spend on pinterest and on T.V. I think this will help me a lot. I need to stay focus and most importantly organized, if I want to succeed in this semester.

This weekend, I had a lovely time with my family. On Saturday we had dinner at Olive Garden. I also, did some thrifting. I wore this outfit to church on Sunday. I felt like a little sailor haha!

Pinspiration: Maxi Dress

The famous Maxi dress dates back to the late 60's. To me, its an essential piece of my closet.  There is something about its length or its volume that makes me feel like a princess. Not only that, but don't you ever have those days when you just want to avoid having to think of what to wear? A maxi dress is your solution! (depending on the occasion) They are perfect for breezy summer days. In the fall, I love to layer them with a lose cardigan and warm scarf. In the winter, I just like to wear a baggy belted sweater over it. And for the spring, I pair it with a simple blazer.

 Here in Chicago, I have worn maxi dresses all four seasons. But of course, not on days that it snows. I wouldn't recommend it.

2012 Looks that Did Not Make it to the Blog

I'm still trying to get the hang of blogging since I'm new to this. Last year, I shared most of my outfits through instagram. And today I decided to share some of them which were not on the blog. If you follow me on istagram all of these may look familiar.

 

I'm so excited for this new year. I hope to share many more outfits with you. I really don't have a lot a goals in terms of what I'll be wearing this year. Maybe just one and that is to be appreciative of what I already have in my closet and make the best of it.

Pinspiration: Texture!!!!!

Looking through all the neat style photos on pinterest, get me so inspired. I try to be as original as possible with my style, but there is nothing wrong with being influenced by other fashionistas!

 Lately, I have been loving all the style post that involve mixing texture. Such as: a simple tee with a leather skirt, a pretty blouse with lace skirt, a soft sweater with a tulle skirt, or leather jacket and tulle skirt. These are some looks that I'd like to recreate with what I have in my closet...

     There are a handful of things I am thankful for this thanksgiving. My faith, family, hubby, health, and all the beautiful people I'm surrounded with. I'm so excited and looking forward to see my family together for thanksgiving dinner. Not to mention having to eat all the delicious food.

     The cape I'm wearing here was only $0.45! I have been searching for a knitted cape for a while now. So when I first saw this one I was thrilled! It's a bit granny'ish, but I loved how warm and cozy it is. I now have four capes, all vintage.

Yesterday was not the best day to take photos. It was incredibly windy, nothing new for a Chicago native. The alley was probably not the best place to take photos, but there are not many nice areas for me to take pictures by where I live. I was so glad to spend the rest of the day at one of my favorite diners. There, I had my usual cup of chili and senior turtle sundae. Yum!

 November is finally here! That means that I'm going to be running around like a headless chicken trying to turn in final assignments for school. This month not only brings sleepless nights, stressful days, but also Thanksgiving. Now that's something to look forward to. Most of my close relatives are here in Chicago, so I don't really leave town for thanksgiving. It is still very exciting for me to be in a full house not only with the people I love but with the food I love.
