Thrifty Thursday: August Part 2

So this week I did not get to do much thrift shopping but....On our way back home from our mini vacation at Wisconsin Dells we (the hubby and I) spotted an Antique Mall. I will post more pictures of the mall soon. For now these were some of the items I purchased on our visit there.

Odd vintage stamps $5, I know I'm weird.
31 vintage colorful threads for only $15!!
Adorable vintage brooch $4.99, momma likes!
.
Cute vintage postcard $2

Well this week is flying by so fast. I have so many things I want to cram in, since I start school next week. I want to finish cleaning out my closet and maybe add some things to my online shop. My brother in law is in town visiting and we want to go swimming, downtown, and get some Giordano's pizza. I'm also planning on going to the Randolph Street Market this weekend. The list goes on! Lets see how much I get done. I hope you all ave a fabulous weekend!

Hello Yellow

Dress: Thrifted Vintage
Belt: Thrifted Vintage
Shoes: F21
Purse: Thrifted
Butterfly: H&M
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this purse at the thrift store last week. From the moment I saw it I knew it had to come home with me. I think it is one of the cutest purses I have ever seen. I loved it! Buuuuuuut.....I wasn't sure how my husband was going to take it. When he saw it he thought it was an actual water can and did not believe that it was a purse.
I wore this outfit on Sunday for church and after we went to eat at Portillo's Hot Dogs. At church everyone already knows me and my style, but when we went out to eat my husband brought to my attention that people were just staring at me. I just laughed. In all honesty, I really don't care what people think of my style. I appreciate the sweet comments I get. But when I get dressed, I do it for myself and no one else. Well I also like to dress cute for my husband and that's it.
If we worry about what others might think of our outfits we we'll never please them all. At the end of the night you are the one wearing the outfit not them. Of course there are right ways to dress for certain occasions but that doesn't mean that you need to dress like someone that is not you. And the best accessory to one's outfit is a good character. Don't forget to smile!

Thrifty Thursday: August

Sooooo this week and last week I did some thrift shopping. Whats new? lol Its a habit, and by the looks of my wallet its a good habit.

The handbag with the cute bear was only a dollar, I bought it at a Unique Thrift Store. I also bought the scarf that same day for a dollar.

Next to the purse, there is a picture of some dresses I found this week. They were all $3 dollars and under and also from Unique.

Now why is it that most of the cute collar vintage blouses I find are either cream or white?? I must have like ten of them already. But I'm excited to wear them this fall under sweaters and cardigans (I might have to cut the sleeves).

Next to the blouses is a cute vintage pitcher perhaps from the 60's. I need to do some research.

And that sums up my thrifted treasures from the past two weeks. Have a lovely weekend everyone. Don't be surprise if I return for another post.

Retro Baby

I'm excited to announce that Retro Glam Store now sells vintage baby clothes. Although, I'm not sure how long I will be selling clothes online I couldn't help it. I love looking through all the cute vintage collars and lovely details on baby clothes and decided to give it a try. I hope to find homes for these adorable vintage pieces. If interested you can check them out here. I can't wait to one day have a baby of my own to give it all my love and dress him/her!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Thrifty Thursday: July

I can't believe we are in the month of August already!! Well this past July has been filled with many fun thrift shopping trips. I have decided to show you some of my most favorite finds. On the top corner to the left you will see a cute vintage footstool. I was so glad to find it because every time I try to hang Moe's shirts I can never reach the clothing rack. The closet in our room was design for a 6 ft man.
Next to it is a clear hand bag that I found last week. I have been looking for something similar  for a few months now. Not only was I glad to find it, but I was glad to see it would only cost me $0.90.
The photo underneath the footstool shows a pair of Micheal Kors studded bow flats. I found them the moment I walked in the thrift and couldn't believe they were just my size and they were brand new. Retail price $119 and I paid $2.45! Next to shoes is a beautiful mesh top. I had seen this mesh top a few thrift shopping trips ago but didn't dare to pay $6 for it. Until there was a half sale and I discovered it for the second time. I knew it was meant to be.
