Movement

Top vintage thrifted, skirt F21, Heels Amazon,

With summer around the corner, I decided to take a risk and get a pair of white heels. Why a risk? Because white shoes don't stay white for too long. Eventually after a few wears they get dirty. They are not my first pair of white shoes, but these by far are my favorite!

Enjoy your weekend!

Sunday's Best

Dress: Vintage Neiman Marcus, Vintage Belt: thrifted, shoes: thrifted, Vintage purse: thrifted, Eyeglasses c/o of bonlook

Hello!

With all the snow and below zero weather we are having in Chicago, not only were my classes canceled but also my church's Sunday service. I didn't let that stop me from wearing this dreamy vintage dress on Sunday. We spent most of the day watching tv and I was able to catch up on some orders from my shop.

The funny thing is that when I realized that my winter break would only last 3 weeks I kind of dreaded going back to school, but now after spending so much time stuck at home I'm anxious to go any where!

Stay warm and toasty...

New Year Resolutions

New Year's Eve Outfit
Blouse: Ebay, Vintage Belt: Thrifted, Vintage skirt: Thrifted, Petticoat: Ebay,
Glittered heels: Thrifted

Hello,

Enjoying the new year so far? I know I am! I spent all night cleaning out my closet. As I was cleaning I was contemplating on whether or not I should share my new year's resolution on the blog. Since last year's were quite successful, I think sharing them this year will help me be even more successful.

So here they go:

1. Thrift Shop Less: I must have gone thrift shopping almost three times a week er every other week this passed year. Sure most of the times I would walk out empty handed and I always tried to have a budget. This year, I would like to go maybe once every other week. My goal is to appreciate and make the most out of what I already have.

2. Read More Books: My goal is to read one book a month.

3. Stay Organized: This means no more piling magazines in random corners of the apartment/house. I need to take care of anything that will pile up if I don't right away.

4. Eat/Live Healthier: It hasn't been easy but I have finally cut off drinking sweet drinks on regular days. I need to drink more water, eat less junk food at school, learn new recipes, eat out less, cook more, make wiser decisions when eating out, stop having seconds, and set exercise regiments.

5. Lose 40lbs: That is how much I gained when I got married. Talking about weight loss is not easy, but there are tons of reasons for me to lose the weight specially after my health scare last year.

6.Use Savings Account: I never learned how to save money, crazy! This is the year.

7. Send More Greeting Cards: I always thought about mailing cards to different people last year, but I didn't do it.

8. Hangout More: This means spending more time with my family and friends.

9. Spent Less, Give More: This not only relates with how I manage my money, but also with how I manage my time. I want to volunteer more.

10. Spiritual Growth: I want to continue to grow in my faith through prayer and reading the Bible.

Do you have any tips for me? Please do tell. What are your resolutions for this new year?

God willing, I look forward to looking back at this in the upcoming year.

September lately...

Tomorrow err today is the first day of Fall! Fall is by far my favorite season. I just love the weather. I enjoy the cool Chicago winds and not to mention the wardrobe change.

This month I have been busy with all my student teaching preparations. I haven't really been at home long enough to write regularly. Somehow I have manage to to squeeze in some time for thrift shopping...what? I'm sooo broke.

Here are some of my Instagram photos:

Happy Bird-day Benji!

Two weekends ago we celebrated my baby bother's 4th birthday. It was truly a happy day for that boy! He had been asking for a birthday party since he was two. I'm so glad we were able to get a party organized for him this year.

He loves angry birds so as you can tell by the pictures angry birds was the party's theme. After blowing off the candles, Benji decided to taste some frosting.

I was super comfy at the party wearing my FitFlops courtesy of  Sole Provisions. These sandals are simply adorable and comfortable, something very rare. I specially loved the color!

Outfit details: Cat shirt and cat headband F21, Vintage denim dress thrifted, Pink Sweater thrifted, FiftFlops C/O Sole Provisions.

Now that I'm going to be teaching, I will need some super chic yet comfy shoes for school. Standing for 8 to 9 hours straight isn't pretty when you are wearing uncomfortable shoes. I started a small wish list check it out!

My summer lately...

Vintage blouse, anthropologie skirt, Payless red heels, All thrifted!

Hello,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I have been all over the place. If I'm not at the thrift stores, I'm at home getting things ready for the big moving day. I have also been helping my husband with the remodeling of our house. I hope to write a post soon on that topic.

This weekend was such a beautiful weekend as we finally got to meet my best friend's baby twin girls. She gave birth to them on Friday. We are all so grateful that everything turn out great. The babies are healthy and mommy is recuperating.

Petticoat love!

      Outfit details: all vintage thrifted!

Hello all!

So a few weeks ago, I thrifted my very first petticoat. I had been looking for weeks! It just occurred to me how fun it must be to wear one. So I was in shock when I found one. Well here is my first look wearing a petticoat. Cheers to many to come! Everything from this look is thrifted and vintage. I know I sound like an old record.

If you go on ebay you can find some nice ones at different prices but they are so worth it. That is if you love a little volume.

I hope everyone is having a pleasant summer!

I'm back

Whew! That was one busy semester.

I'm glad to finally start my summer break. This week was my official last week of school. I have been celebrating all weekend. I went on a date this Saturday with my hubby to a lovely restaurant. And we are planning on watching Iron Man 3 this evening.

What did you do this weekend?

Lady in Red

Hello,

After searching for a few weeks, I finally found a lovely red dress. And best of all it's VINTAGE! I wore it with a belt from another vintage dress. I still can't figure out the print. To me it looks like birds or feathers. I also, love that its pleated at the skirt.

Do you have any recent thrift finds that you are extra proud of?

Hello Luvs!!!

I don't think I was ever this excited for the arrival of spring. Don't get me wrong, I love winters in Chicago. In fact winter is one of my favorite seasons. This winter has just been really long for me.

This outfit, like most of my outfits, is 99.5% thrifted vintage! I always feel good when I realize that my outfit was well under 10 bucks. That is a  plus from shopping at the thrifts, not having too spend too much on a single item. Another plus, is that you know you are wearing unique pieces when they are vintage. There is no way someone in the same room will be wearing the same thing. Who knew it doesn't cost a lot of money to look great and feel unique?!

Playing Dress Up

For the past few weeks, I have been feeling super gloomy and lazy. For no reason what so ever. I want to blame it on the weather, because it has been so dark and cloudy lately. I just need sun filled days to get me going.

Something about having sunlight enter my apartment and shining on my plants makes me want to jump off my bed and do things. I'm so glad for these past two sunny days.

Also, can you believe I have only 6 more weeks of school?? Yikes! I have never been so excited for my summer break!!!

Sometimes, I like to play dress up to cheer up.

How do you deal with gloomy days?

I stress when I stress

This weekend, we had our church couples dinner in honor of Valentines day. First, we had lovely conference on marriage and then we went to Connie's Pizza for dinner.

Even though its been a somewhat pleasant week, I can't help but stress over all the work I have to do for school. In a week, I will be presenting my first lesson to a group of 2nd graders. Exciting!!! Yet nerve racking. I'm doing my best to prepare with hopes that everything will turn out okay.

I'm wearing a vintage thrifted dress, vintage collar blouse thrifted, vintage purse, vintage white heels also thrifted.

Polkadots and Buttons

This year, I really don't have any resolutions, but I did wanted to make some changes. That bad thing about being a thriftaholic is that I have gathered so many clothes. I've gathered so many clothes that sometimes I forget what I have.
For example, this vintage dress. I bought it last year around spring and I'm barely wearing. I've tried to stop thrift shopping just to give myself a chance to appreciate and wear what I already have, but that has not worked. I think I ended thrift shopping twice as much.
So, this year I'm changing the way I look at clothes and will be planning my outfits with more time, so that I won't wear the same thing. As far as the thrift shopping, I'm only going once a week (it's a work in progress hehe).

Feel free to give me some advice or tips.

Green and Pink

Hello!

Can you believe it? February already??

I have been so busy with school work. And it's only going to get busier. I'm glad I got a chance to blog. I wore this vintage skirt and sweater to a date with my hubby. We went to Fridays where I had my favorite Sizzling Chicken & Cheese, and he had a Jack Daniels burger. Then, we did a little shopping. Not bad for a Saturday.

Stay tuned I'm working on a fun and quirky DIY!

November is finally here! That means that I'm going to be running around like a headless chicken trying to turn in final assignments for school. This month not only brings sleepless nights, stressful days, but also Thanksgiving. Now that's something to look forward to. Most of my close relatives are here in Chicago, so I don't really leave town for thanksgiving. It is still very exciting for me to be in a full house not only with the people I love but with the food I love.

Today is Going to be a Good Good Day!

Hello there,

Earlier today I decided that it was going to be good good day. I hardly ever do that. You know talking positively and all that good mantra. Anyway...So on my way back home from work I had a car accident. Yes my FIRST ever!!! I won't go into details, but I'm so glad nobody got hurt. Except of course my poor Beany (yes I named my car, its silly I know). It was more like a fender bender. Both cars were not greatly damaged, but I sure did get scared.

So much for declaring good things into my life. Honestly, I think that it was a good day, because things could have been worst.

What are you grateful for today?

Belt: Vintage
Tights: HUE
Boots: F21
Clutch: Vintage

This week I made a drastic change in the way I eat and how I eat. I have been cutting down on the meat, white bread, and sweet drinks. I try not to eat pass 5 PM. I'm eating more vegetables, fruits, and drinking more water. It's amazing what a week worth of these changes can bring. I have been feeling less tired and bloated.

The reason for these changes are not only to have a better health but also for me to go back to my normal weight (from before I got married), and so I can fit back into my favorite vintage clothes. I hope that I can stay committed to this change. I would really like to see the results soon, aside from feeling better.

Also, this week I have been cleaning out my closet trying to chose clothes for my shop (COMING SOON). I am a bit nervous. I have no idea how selling online works. Sooooo if anyone out there has an online store and wants to give me some advice please do!
