Problems of a vintage seller

It has been a bit over five months since my last blog post. But now I'm back! Well at least I will try to post more often again. As you can see, if you don't follow me on instagram, I am with child. Which is a whole other story. I will be happy to share with you soon. I'm currently five months pregnant. I won't find out what we are having until this coming Monday. Both my husband and I are very happy and grateful for this sweet tiny but big blessing. Now that I feel much better I hope to share a bit more about my pregnancy on the blog.

So, what are some problems I have come across selling vintage clothes?
One, you become somewhat of a hoarder. Although I'm not a full time seller, the little inventory that I have has begun to pile up. If you were to walk in to my house right now you would find bags of vintage clothes in random corners. Maybe a few piles on my couch and another pile by my kitchen table.
Two, you want to keep all of it. Okay maybe not all of it, only most of the items in your size. This top dress is a prime example of this problem. It was a sunny afternoon, when I was shooting some vintage dresses to post on my shop. It wasn't until a took photos of this cutie, that I realized I just couldn't let it go. I fell in love with the buttons, the sleeves, and the dots. So, I ran to my closet and took out a vintage dress that I didn't wear any more to sell instead of this. You just have to compromise if not your closet will eventually overflow.

Those are my two problems so far in the three years that I have been selling vintage clothes. Do any of you have a clothing shoppe? Do you have similar issues? Do tell!!

I usually post more on my instaShop over at http://websta.me/n/shopretroglam or you can find me by searching @shopretroglam on the instagram app.

Just a Llittle Rant

Vintage Dress: Duet Vintage, Vintage Fedora: thrifted, Payless heels: thrifted

Hello,

Have you ever had so much to do that you don't even know where to start from?  Well that is how I feel today. It is probably one of the reasons why sometimes I'm not even sure why I have a blog .Okay, I do know one reason. I love sharing my thrifty outfits, promoting recycled fashion, and from time to time sharing DIY's, three reasons?

Being organized is not easy period! But, I believe it is doable. It amazes me how much more I was able to get done when I was in school, working part time jobs, and helping at my local church. Now that I'm at home every other day, I can't seem to get most things done. Sometimes I catch myself trying to do three things at once. And many of us know that is not going to work.

How do you stay organized?

Anyway, I have completed week three of eating better. I think from now on, I will stop counting the weeks. Especially if it is a life goal that I'm shooting for. Total count down 6lbs lost, not sure how many inches. It's interesting how men lose weight much more easier than women. My husband lost far much more than I. haha!

This fabulous vintage dress that I purchased from Duet Vintage on Etsy, did not fit me a few months ago. I was a little nervous to try it on, but it fit! Truly one of the quirks of a successful new eating routine.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of  your week!

xoxo

Dresses with Collars

Vintage Dress: Joy Roy Vintage, belt and purse: Thrifted Vintage, Shoes: Thrifted Unknown brand

How charming is this dress?! I bought it from Joy Roy Vintage. They have an etsy shop as well as an Instagram shop. You can find them Instagram by searching: @joyroyvintage. By far this has been one of my most favorite purchases from them.

Aside from the style and fit on this vintage gem, I just love the collar! I love a good vintage collar. This dress has it all. Although I wore this on a rainy summer evening, I look forward to wearing it more this fall.

Xoxo

Sunday's Threads: Pink Again...

Vintage and Thrifted: Dress (similar),  Belt (similar), Brooch (similar), Purse (similar), Shoes from Amazon (similar)
Hello!!

Funny thing about me wearing a pink dress (and for the second time this month), is that I never liked the color pink. I forget why... Anyway, the past weekend was jam packed with events. I woke up on Sunday feeling super tired. I honestly just wanted to sleep in! But, I didn't. I got up and put the first dress I saw on.

This Sunday,  I also rediscover the cute shoes I am wearing. The last time I wore them was the Fall of last year. Yikes! I have grown to become such a horrible hoarder. I have things in my closet that I forget I bought at the thrift (this dress is actually a good example). I can't help but feel bad about such habit.

Well, all that is going to end. We are soon to be moving to our new house, so I will have to do some heavy closet cleaning. I will also have a huge sale on my online shoppe Retro Glam.

Stay tune for the shop updates by following me on my instagram account @shopRetroGlam. I will post more info of the sale there.

Bonjour BonLook!

Dress/Thrifted Vintage, Belt/Thrifted, Shoes/ F21, Glasses c/o Bonlook

Hello All!

I'm extra happy to write this post today, because I will be talking about my new eye glasses from Bonlook. They are the La Marquise - Tortoise frames. It's funny how when I first found out that I needed glasses I dreaded the idea. I would only wear them during class back in high school and through most of my early college years. I guess I wasn't comfortable with how they looked on me to wear them all the time.

Honestly, some of the frames that I could afford back then were not that appealing either. I'm so glad for companies like Bonlook! They not only have great affordable prices but also such phenomenal styles of frames.

I have been eying the frames I got for a while. I just love the cat eye style and the fact that they come in tortoise. The only downfall is that my cheeks are too fat. Ha! The bottom of the frames lay right on top of my "cheek bones" so when I push them up they leave a mark. Other then that I have been wearing them all day and night and haven't experience any problems. It might be too soon to talk about the quality, but so fart so good.

If you wear eye glasses and are in need of new frames you should check them out!

Thank You Bonlook!!!

Sunday Funday!

Hello all!! I'm now on my 6th week of student teaching. Whew! Ten more to go. I'm currently trying my best to stay organized. Being a teacher is a lot of work and if you are not organized you well learn to be!

Here is my Sunday outfit: Thrifted: vintage dress, vintage lace blouse, vintage belt, vintage brooch, boots from Amazon, ring c/o Modern Design Inc

How awesome is my tungsten ring?! Modern Design Inc sells custom made rings and wholesaled to many stores. I was contacted by them to write a review on one of their rings. I gotta tell ya, it was not easy choosing a ring. They have so many great options to select from. I was very pleased with my decision. The detail across the middle of my Carbide ring is very unique and beautiful! Check them out!

Happy Bird-day Benji!

Two weekends ago we celebrated my baby bother's 4th birthday. It was truly a happy day for that boy! He had been asking for a birthday party since he was two. I'm so glad we were able to get a party organized for him this year.

He loves angry birds so as you can tell by the pictures angry birds was the party's theme. After blowing off the candles, Benji decided to taste some frosting.

I was super comfy at the party wearing my FitFlops courtesy of  Sole Provisions. These sandals are simply adorable and comfortable, something very rare. I specially loved the color!

Outfit details: Cat shirt and cat headband F21, Vintage denim dress thrifted, Pink Sweater thrifted, FiftFlops C/O Sole Provisions.

Now that I'm going to be teaching, I will need some super chic yet comfy shoes for school. Standing for 8 to 9 hours straight isn't pretty when you are wearing uncomfortable shoes. I started a small wish list check it out!

Totally getting these first!!!

A Match Made on Etsy

Dress: vintage from The Circle Is Cast, shoes: thrifted

Hi all!

I hope everyone is enjoying what is left of summer. Where did the time go?? Today I wore this dress to church. I found this dress about a week ago on etsy. Although, I rather spend twenty dollars on a trip to the thrift store, I decided to treat myself to a new dress in the comfort of my home.

Well this summer I have been staying mostly at home. I didn't want to get a full time job, because I wouldn't be able to continue to work during student teaching. That's right the time has come. In about two weeks I will be in a classroom, 4th grade to be exact. I am a bit nervous, but also very excited!

Do you have something exciting coming up this fall??

My Birthday Weekend

My birthday was actually a weekend ago. I had great time at church and from there my husband and I left to go get dinner. My parents and my aunt had agreed to join us. We decided to get pizza, because I LOVE pizza!

My aunt and her husband and my husband and I, outside the restaurant.

I didn't get to take better pictures of my outfit, but this is what I wore.

The coach bag was a Christmas gift from almost 4 years ago, heels are from amazon, and my dress is thrifted vintage.
                    Yummy!!!!

                  Birthday cake!!

I'm truly blessed and happy to get the opportunity to celebrate another year. I can't wait, by the grace of God, to see how this next year is going to be like.

Happy Monday!
