Sunday's Threads

Eyeglasses and Camouflage shirt F21, Vintage Dress, vintage belt, and vintage yellow heels all Thrifted

Hello all!
Here is a funny story, I have been hunting for a strapless dress since the Fall of 2013. I even added it to my "Look For" list. Yes! I have a list I take with me when I thrift shop, mental list that is. It keeps me from buying things I don't need. So it wasn't until Saturday that I discovered this 80's vintage dress in my very own closet. I completely forgot about it since it was put away along with other summer pieces. I must have thrifted this dress about three summers ago.

Initially, I have been wanting a strapless dress to style it with a white collar slouchy button up shirt. Once I found my dress, I started looking through my closet for the perfect white top to wear it with only to find out that I don't own that kind of top. Ha! All of my white blouses are vintage, with funky collars, eyelet details, and silly collar trims. So I wound up wearing it with my camouflage shirt from F21.

To get a better idea of a classy way to wear that strapless dress in your closet, take a look at some style Pinspiration:

Most of these are styled with a white collared shirt, but don't be afraid to add a little twist. You can wear a fun printed top, t-shirt, or a turtle neck sweater for the fall.

you can find me on pinterest here.

Bonjour BonLook!

Dress/Thrifted Vintage, Belt/Thrifted, Shoes/ F21, Glasses c/o Bonlook

Hello All!

I'm extra happy to write this post today, because I will be talking about my new eye glasses from Bonlook. They are the La Marquise - Tortoise frames. It's funny how when I first found out that I needed glasses I dreaded the idea. I would only wear them during class back in high school and through most of my early college years. I guess I wasn't comfortable with how they looked on me to wear them all the time.

Honestly, some of the frames that I could afford back then were not that appealing either. I'm so glad for companies like Bonlook! They not only have great affordable prices but also such phenomenal styles of frames.

I have been eying the frames I got for a while. I just love the cat eye style and the fact that they come in tortoise. The only downfall is that my cheeks are too fat. Ha! The bottom of the frames lay right on top of my "cheek bones" so when I push them up they leave a mark. Other then that I have been wearing them all day and night and haven't experience any problems. It might be too soon to talk about the quality, but so fart so good.

If you wear eye glasses and are in need of new frames you should check them out!

Thank You Bonlook!!!

Lady in Red

Hello,

After searching for a few weeks, I finally found a lovely red dress. And best of all it's VINTAGE! I wore it with a belt from another vintage dress. I still can't figure out the print. To me it looks like birds or feathers. I also, love that its pleated at the skirt.

Do you have any recent thrift finds that you are extra proud of?

Black and White

I'm normally not into trends. Well if I see something at the store and I like it I'll buy it. Don't get me wrong, I love fashion, but I always try to shoot for more weird and random outfits. Plus I'm always thrift shopping for vintage. I don't buy into a lot of trends.
This weekend I succumbed to the black and white trend for this Spring. My skirt was originally a vintage dress I thrifted about a month ago. It was too big so I made it into a skirt. I just couldn't get rid of it. So I had to make it work for me.

Thrifted Vintage: blouse, belt, DIY skirt, 1950's purse. Shoes are from forever21.

Today is Going to be a Good Good Day!

Hello there,

Earlier today I decided that it was going to be good good day. I hardly ever do that. You know talking positively and all that good mantra. Anyway...So on my way back home from work I had a car accident. Yes my FIRST ever!!! I won't go into details, but I'm so glad nobody got hurt. Except of course my poor Beany (yes I named my car, its silly I know). It was more like a fender bender. Both cars were not greatly damaged, but I sure did get scared.

So much for declaring good things into my life. Honestly, I think that it was a good day, because things could have been worst.

What are you grateful for today?

Well to celebrate the arrival of Autumn here is a fun 60's inspired outfit! Enjoy and have a lovely Monday!!!
